This post is full time and currently funded for 1 year

These posts are based at the University's Dumfries Campus which is home to its School of Interdisciplinary Studies and the newly established National Centre for Resilience (NCR). The NCR, which will be Scotland’s first resilience ‘centre of excellence’, is a collaborative multi-agency partnership that brings together resilience, scientific and academic communities to enhance our resilience and preparedness to natural hazards. Applications from individuals with expertise in resilience as it relates to community resilience; critical infrastructure; responses to natural hazards, forecasting; land use and planning; and business are particularly sought.

You will make a leading contribution to the development of the research and knowledge exchange capacity and outputs of the newly established National Centre for Resilience. You will also be required to work in collaboration with NCR partners to identify new areas for research and to demonstrate a degree of leadership in contributing to the formulation and submission of research proposals and publications. You will act with a degree of independence to help establish and shape this innovative and challenging project as opportunities allow.
