Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) is seeking its first Global Dean to provide strategic leadership across its three campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia. The University of Nottingham is one of the most international universities in the UK and NUBS will offer a unique gateway to international business through a range of programmes developed specifically to serve this purpose.

The Global Dean will lead the growth of an internationally minded business school, identifying and leveraging strategic opportunities based on its tri-campus competitive advantage. Reporting to the University of Nottingham’s PVC of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the appointee will have overall responsibility for NUBS, supported by three locally-based deans.  The Global Dean will lead the ongoing development of leading-edge international programmes, high quality research activity, and successful knowledge exchange and innovation, accelerating the promotion of NUBS into the elite class of global business schools.

Candidates must be comfortable and credible within a multi-national, multi-cultural setting, able to understand the nuances of developing a common vision, set of values and governance structure across multiple cultures.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience leading successfully across borders and managing geographically disbursed teams in complex settings.  Whilst leadership experience in higher education is not a pre-requisite, the successful candidate will need to be immediately credible as a leader of an academic community internally and externally.  Ability to demonstrate good international networks at the interface of academia and business will be an advantage.
