The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within the Building and Property Division at Monash University for a Building Services Manager. The Building and Property Division is responsible for supporting the running of all of the University's campuses, including security, traffic, waste management, mail and many other activities. The Building Services Manager is responsible for providing expert technical support, high level customer service and strategic initiatives to all campuses. With a focus on scheduling, auditing and delivery this dynamic role calls for a talented multi-task with a strong background in facilities management.

As the successful candidate you will possess a strong background in management of performance based contracts for complex buildings and multi-disciplined operational teams. Working in a demanding environment you will be able to identify issues and risks and develop options and provide expert practical advice on highly complex facilities management matters. You will draw on your strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate your expert advice, while maintaining effective working relationships.

Comfortable with computer systems, you will use your experience working with Computerised Management Maintenance Systems in order to track and manage risks and hazards for action. This expertise will assist you in managing the delivery of the statutory obligations as defined in the Building Code of Australia, in order to ensure the University remains in compliance.

To excel in this role it is vital that you have strong computer and written and verbal communication skills, including a strong knowledge of building regulations.
