The Opportunity

The Student Engagement Officer sits in the area of Campus Experience and Major Events. This area is responsible for planning, organising, managing and coordinating the delivery of a range of events and programs which are designed to promote student engagement and campus life and to enhance the student experience on Monash University domestic campuses.

Key events and programs include

  • Open Day
  • orientation and transition programs
  • major campus based activation activities including festivals and local pop-up installations
  • graduations.

 Your specific duties will include:

  • developing and maintaining relationships with key student organisations
  • social media communication
  • event volunteer coordination
  • event evaluation.

As the successful candidate, you will have exceptional organisational skills and a demonstrated understanding of management protocols as they pertain to the successful planning, delivery and improvement processes for high quality events and programs.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering programs to select, train and develop high quality casual staff and volunteers and will possess the ability to deliver high quality outcomes in a fast paced and high pressure environment, both within a team and autonomously.

In addition, you will be required to use your high level communication skills to build and sustain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
