Lecturer in Novel Interfaces and Interactions (permanent, full time)
Lecturer A: starting at £34,956 and rising to £38,183 per annum
Lecturer B: starting at £39,324 and rising to £46,924 per annum
Expected start date: 1st September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter
The School of Engineering and Informatics wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Novel Interfaces and Interactions, at either Grade 7 or Grade 8 depending on experience, to join the School’s Creative Technology Group (CTG). The activities of the Group encompass human-computer interaction, computer graphics, digital media technology, product design, technology enhanced learning, and human centred design, with significant capital and infrastructure investment in the research and facilities available to the CTG.
The School would welcome applications from candidates whose research interests lie in developing new computing systems and novel user experiences that combine hardware and software, working at the intersection of human-computer interaction, physical prototyping technologies and creative technology. We are seeking an individual who can strengthen the internationally leading research activities of the Creative Technology Group.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the area of interactive computing, and up to second year undergraduate level in core computer science. The successful applicant will be supported with an appropriate start-up package to help them establish their independent research portfolio.
