The Industrial Placements Manager role is a new position within the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham.
The School has a broad research portfolio encompassing Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Condensed Matter Physics, Cold Atomic Physics, Particle Theory and Astronomy. It is also one of the largest departments in the UK with over 600 undergraduate students.

The position represents an exciting opportunity to help shape the new Physics with a Year in Industry course and wider programme of placements and industrial engagement.

The role holder will have specific responsibility for the development, management and delivery of placement provision within the School with a particular focus on developing the forthcoming Physics with a Year in Industry course.  Working with the business development teams in the School and wider Faculty of Science, the role holder will also develop a Business Engagement Strategy to support this activity and develop lasting partnerships with the relevant scientific, technological and engineering companies and sectors.

Travel to visit students on placements and meet external stakeholders and attendance at events will form an important part of this position and a flexible approach to working patterns is therefore required.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post available until 31 July 2020.
