Swinburne University of Technology seeks to appoint an outstanding nursing academic as Professor of Nursing and Course Director in the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design based in Melbourne, Australia.

The Professor of Nursing and Discipline Head (PNDH) will provide outstanding academic, research and professional leadership support to both academic and clinical staff and students in the new Nursing course at Swinburne University. As part of the university’s ambitious new Health Sciences strategy, the PNDH will lead the implementation of a new Bachelor of Nursing course and establish the Nursing curriculum using simulation, online, blended and on-campus modes of delivery.  The PNDH will be responsible for establishing industry partnerships and placements, and recruit and supervise new teaching staff into the course. The incumbent will also lead a research strand (mental health, pedagogy, disability, aged care, community settings and e-health of particular interest), convene and teach academic units and supervise research students.

Possessing an outstanding national and international reputation as a leader in teaching and research in Nursing, the successful candidate will be well-networked, innovative, push boundaries, demonstrate cutting-edge approaches to integrating IT into pedagogy, experienced in simulation and have the capacity to build and grow a team and curriculum.
