Swinburne University of Technology seeks to appoint an outstanding nursing academic as Professor of Nursing and Course Director in the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design based in Melbourne, Australia.
The Senior Lecturer (Nursing) and Course Director (SLCD) will provide outstanding academic and professional leadership support to both academic and clinical staff and students in the new Nursing course at Swinburne University. As part of the university’s ambitious new Health Sciences strategy, the SLCD will be in charge of teaching the undergraduate and postgraduate Bachelor of Nursing course and establishing the Nursing curriculum using simulation, online, blended and on-campus modes of delivery. The SLCD will be responsible for establishing industry partnerships and placements, and recruit and supervise new teaching staff into the course. The incumbent will also contribute to a research strand (mental health, pedagogy, disability, aged care, community settings and e-health of particular interest), convene and teach academic units and supervise research students.
With an outstanding academic reputation as a leader in teaching and research in nursing, the successful candidate will be innovative in demonstrating cutting-edge approaches to integrating technology into pedagogy. Leading and building a team and curriculum whilst understanding contemporary matters and trends in nursing education is essential to this role. In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate high standard of interpersonal and communication skills.
