The Opportunity

The Department of Pharmacology is seeking to appoint a dynamic individual wishing to pursue or further an academic career in Biomedical Sciences, as a Senior Lecturer.

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic academic to join a highly motivated team of teaching and research staff. You will be expected to teach pharmacology in one or more subjects and across various courses at the direction of the Head of Department. You will develop blended learning and teaching strategies in pharmacology and be expected to convene at least one Pharmacology unit.

As part of a vibrant interactive workplace, you would also be expected to build and maintain a research profile, with an emphasis placed on team spirit and collaboration. You will supervise honours and postgraduate research students and lead a research group. Overall, you will demonstrate a strong research record/potential, work at the leading edge of your field and have excellent teaching skills. You will make significant contributions to teaching at all levels, and maintain and develop research and professional activities.

To be successful, you will need a PhD in Pharmacology or a related discipline, together with proven research and teaching capabilities.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
