Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor

Albany/Wellington/Palmerston North

Massey Business School is seeking a dynamic, innovative and effective academic leader to work closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Dean); to lead this large School and support its continuing commitment to engaged staff and stakeholders; delivering academic excellence, impactful research, enterprising culture and outstanding reputation. You will deputise for the PVC (Dean) as needed and take primary responsibility for the strategic development, administration and reputation enhancement of academic programmes, including internationalisation, education partnerships and accreditation activities.

This is a permanent (tenured) Professorial appointment, with the position as DPVC (Deputy Dean) being an initial term of five years, after which time a further term may be available or you could take up an academic position in line with your research expertise and discipline. To be successful in appointment to this position, you will have leadership experience, preferably in an AACSB and/or EQUIS accredited business school. You will be knowledgeable about contemporary business education trends, have a track record of introducing innovations, and skilled at working collaboratively with stakeholders inside and external to the university.

Massey Business School is accredited by a wide range of national and international organisations for the quality of its teaching and research, including AACSB (in both business and accounting), AMBA (Association of MBAs), and ACEJMC (Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication); we are also a CFA® partner school. We are ranked by QS in the top 100 universities in the world for Accounting and Finance and top 200 for Management & Business Studies and Communication & Media Studies.

With presence across three campuses in New Zealand, it is preferred that you are based at the University’s Manawatū campus, in Palmerton North; but consideration will be given if you choose to be located at our Auckland campus, in Albany or Wellington campus. Our ideal commencement date for you is mid-2017.

Applications close on 15 January 2017
