Job Description

Under the direction of the Program Administrator and the Director of Didactic Education, this individual who will work with the PA program part-time to provide administrative support for the didactic phase of the PA Program. Administrative support includes managing the schedules for all didactic lectures, activities and clinical skills sessions in the 27-month program, as well as room scheduling requests. Curriculum management includes maintaining curriculum websites, managing the course administration related to exams and grades and updating the curriculum mapping database. This individual will provide administrative support to the Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee of the PA Program, implement the on-boarding of each new PA class (background checks, Orientation) and serve in a supportive role to other administrators during the PA program Admissions cycle, Graduation and White Coat ceremony.
Effectively manage the didactic phase, clinical phase and PA program room scheduling, troubleshooting scheduling issues (conflicts with space or faculty), and communicate schedule changes to the appropriate constituents (faculty, staff and students). Develop a weekly schedule for ECHO 360 lecture capture for use by BUSM Ed Media. Develop student seminar and small group schedules for courses in which they are required. Accurately maintain and update Google class calendars for three classes; deploy lecture invitations (reminders) to faculty for all PA courses. Generate individual course schedules for 14 courses per year including one that is year long. Working with the PA faculty and three clinical skills entities (UMass Med, BUSM clinical skills and Solomont Simulation Center), schedule first, second and third year PA students for formative and summative OSCEs, history taking and physical examination labs, team simulations as well as male and female sensitive skills exams.

Develop, organize, maintain and archive Blackboard sites for the PA program curriculum. Upload course syllabi, course schedules, lecture materials, study guides, links to journal articles and video presentations to Blackboard.

Administrative course management including maintaining current course director CVs, update syllabi as directed by curriculum Directors. Distribute electronic or printed materials for in-class exercises as needed. Proctor didactic exams, aid with proctoring clinical exams if time permits. Using Exam soft, upload exams and report student performance to the Director of Didactic Education after the exams have been taken. Using Excel develop a grading sheet for courses, develop statistical reports using descriptive statistics for student and course data as needed. Assistant with maintaining and updating the Curriculum Mapping Access database; may supervise student workers. Track lecture peer review schedules and results. Order course related supplies including working with Ed Media to organize small group clinical skills sessions.
Support the Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee of the PA Program by collaboratively developing the agenda, distributing meeting reminders (agendas and supporting documents) and accurately transcribing committee minutes. Track curriculum changes and recommendations on an annual basis. Develop a shared website for use by committee members and faculty.

Develop and implement the annual PA program Orientation. Communicate with incoming class and prepare pre-program materials including responsibility for ordering criminal background checks.

Participate in other activities as directed by the program including: Website updates, Admissions, Graduation and the White Coat ceremony.

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experinece.
