COURSE LEADER: BSc Games Development, Interaction Design, User Experience Design
£39,324 to £46,924 plus Course Leader Allowance
Norwich University of the Arts is entering an exciting new phase of development with the launch of a suite of creative Batchelor of Science (BSc) awards in Games Development, Interaction Design and User Experience Design. These awards will complement existing provision in Design and Media and provide students with a strong technical and scientific grounding for their creative endeavours and future careers. To this end, the University is working closely with employers to ensure the courses meet industry expectations and future needs. The three courses will be developed under the leadership of a single Course Leader and will have a shared curriculum in the first year of study. Subject to validation, we anticipate recruiting our first cohort of students in September 2017.
We are now seeking to appoint a Course Leader with the drive, ambition and experience to develop, promote and deliver these new awards. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of the technical and creative demands of the award disciplines together with specialist skills in at least one of the three areas. You will have a deep understanding of the requirements for undergraduate study on BSc awards that are clearly focused on preparing students for professional employment.
The role is an opportunity to drive the implementation of Creative Science at NUA. Initially the post holder will be involved in developing course documentation, leading the courses through external approval processes and working with the Marketing team to promote and recruit the first cohort of students.
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent skills in course organisation and management and a grasp of the key areas of learning and teaching as they relate to the awards. You will bring with you strong professional relationships with high-profile industry contacts. You will demonstrate an understanding of the current and future drivers for curriculum content and design and have an understanding of the wider Higher Education context and the current strategic imperatives for UK universities.
Closing date: Thursday 15th December 2016
Interview date: Friday 6th January 2017
