We are seeking up to six enthusiastic and experienced Professional Practice Consultants to join our newly created Professional Practice team located at the Clayton Campus.
Reporting to the Professional Practice Manager, you will bring your experience as a qualified teacher in an early childhood, primary or secondary teaching setting to support the faculty's professional experience functions through an internal focus on student support and an external focus on partner support. You will support students' progress in professional practice and their professional readiness within teacher education courses at all levels by various support mechanisms such as: extensive counselling, conducting pre-placement workshops, and responding to concerns and queries referred by the Professional Experience Office in order to support students in an efficient manner.
This role requires you to be expert in relationship management to develop and manage internal/external partnerships, which will help support the placement needs. You will work collaboratively with various academic staff members to seek advice and directions regarding operationalising new partnerships.
To be successful for this role, you should have:
- Relevant qualifications in initial Teacher Education with recent and successful teaching experience
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build successful long term mutually beneficial relationships
- Ability to operate within the required policy and compliance framework with willingness to work under broad directions

Applicants must either hold current teacher registration through the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) (or equivalent) or be eligible to be registered to teach by VIT.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
