The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Professional Practice Manager to lead our newly created Professional Practice team located at the Clayton Campus.

Reporting to the Faculty General Manager, you will bring your experience as an educational practice leader to lead and support a team of six Professional Practice Consultants in the faculty's professional experience functions. The work will focus on student support of their developing practice in early childhood, primary and secondary settings and the development and maintenance of external partnerships. You will provide leadership and guidance to your team to achieve the goal of enhancing professional readiness of students pre-placement, during and post placements.

You will bring your managerial skills for strategic planning, developing workshops, assessing student placement experience and to devising strategies for continuous improvement within the faculty's extensive Professional Practice program.

You will work with academic staff members for the purpose of securing and managing partnership arrangements and to develop a consistent approach. Your contribution to the team's development will be vital by providing continuous coaching and mentoring. 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Relevant qualifications in initial Teacher Education, with recent educational leadership and teaching experience
  • Proven ability to prepare correspondence and to solve complex issues relating to placements
  • Well developed understanding of Teacher Professional standards
  • Experience in stakeholder management with excellent interpersonal skills

Applicants must either hold current teacher registration through the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)  (or equivalent) or be eligible to be registered to teach by VIT

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
