Advanced Water Management Centre

The Advanced Water Management Centre (AWMC) is an international centre of excellence in innovative water technology, treatment and management. With over 100 research staff and students based at The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus, the AWMC has established a substantial niche in the interdisciplinary fields of biological science and chemical process engineering. The AWMC has an international reputation for expertise in education, research and training, with >60 international journal publications per year and excellent funding successes from industry and the Australian Research Council (>$7M in the last 3 years). The Role

We seek one highly motivated PhD student to work on a very exciting project focusing on the development of novel wastewater treatment technologies. The successful candidate should have a strong background in environmental engineering, preferably with some previous knowledge about the cutting-edge carbon recovery and nitrogen removal technologies for wastewater treatment.  

The Person

This scholarship is open to Australian citizens and international applicants. Candidates should have Honours degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, or similar. International candidates should be eligible for an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) or external scholarship (for more information, please visit: http://www.uq.edu.au/grad-school/scholarships-and-fees).

Remuneration

The scholarship will consist of approximately $26,288 tax-free per annum for 3 years, with possible extension to 3.5 years.
