The School of Allied Health Sciences is one of the largest and fastest growing Schools in the Health Group. It is known for innovation and excellence in health education, research and clinical practice. The School offers academic programs across all levels in seven disciplines: Exercise, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Counselling, Speech Pathology and Sport. Staff members actively engage in these areas of research and are supported by the Menzies Health Institute Queensland, which has a focus on allied health research. In addition, Allied Health Clinics are housed in the School and provide dietetics, exercise physiology, physiology and speech pathology services to the public as well as opportunities for clinical education.

This is a fixed term (three years), full time position as Deputy Head, School of Allied Health Sciences, (with a two year extension by mutual agreeement). This position will be primarily based at the Nathan campus, however the successful applicant may also be required to work on other campuses of the University.

The role:

This is a key leadership position within the University and the School of Allied Health Sciences. The position will be responsible, under direction of the Head of School, for the expansion of the School to the Nathan campus and will contribute to the establishment of learning and teaching, research, resourcing, and external engagement activities to ensure a smooth transition to this campus.

The person:

The person appointed must have a strong track record in academic leadership in one or more allied health disciplines, particularly in relation to learning and teaching, research and management, with a particular track record of mentoring staff.

Salary range:

Professor, Level E: $169,779 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $198,642 per annum.

Associate Professor, Level D: $131,801 - $145,205 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $154,208 - $169,890 per annum.
