Description of Work Unit

The Department of Marketing is one of five departments in the College of Business. The Department currently has 12 full-time tenure-track faculty members and four special appointment faculty who specialize in instructional course delivery. The Department serves approximately 2,300 undergraduate business majors, of whom approximately 500 are marketing majors, approximately 2,000 undergraduate students enrolled in the business administration minor, and approximately 1,200 MBA students. The MBA includes several residential programs and an online option. The faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and research. The Department maintains a behavioral research lab and supports research efforts via a variety of initiatives. The Center for Marketing & Social Issues (which has the mission of advancing marketing’s societal contributions through research, education, and outreach) resides in the Department.

Position Summary

The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at Colorado State University invites applications for a one-year 9-month special appointment faculty position. This position is non-tenured, with benefits.

The normal teaching load for this position will be four classes per semester to be determined by the Department Chair.

The Department has teaching needs in Digital Marketing, Social Media, Data Analytics, Pricing and International Marketing. Of these areas, Digital Marketing and Data Analytics are priorities.

Additionally, candidates will be expected to participate in service activities.

Required Job Qualifications

Applicants must have formal training and experience in Marketing with a relevant Master’s degree or terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA).

Applicants must demonstrate potential to maintain continuing faculty qualification for AACSB accreditation. There are four categories of faculty qualification, and applicants will be expected to remain qualified (within one of the categories). For more information on these categories see:

Preferred Job Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with (1) directly relevant teaching experience, (2) relevant professional experience, (3) demonstrated excellence in teaching digital marketing and other marketing topics, and (4) ability to positively contribute to a collegial atmosphere in the Department and the College.
