The chef will manage kitchen and coordinate all related culinary activities, estimate food consumption costing and requisition or purchase/ order food, select and develop recipes, standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality, establish presentation technique and quality standards, plan and price menus, ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance, and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. The chef will be the main cook in the restaurant. He will also be responsible for restaurant operations.
Applicants should possess a Certificate of Attainment in Commercial Cookery with at least a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. Applicants must have the ability to cook variety of dishes with keen interest in food and cooking, strong communication and leadership skills, the ability to work under pressure, high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, the ability to do several tasks at once, creativity and imagination for food presentation and ability to work as part of a team. Experience in Customer service, restaurant service and cash register operation will be an advantage.
An attractive salary commensurate with qualifications and abilities would be negotiated with the successful applicant.
