Professor / Associate / Assistant in Anatomy
The appointee will be responsible to the Dean, through the Head of Health Sciences and will be required to develop and teach Anatomy courses at undergraduate and post graduate levels. Duties include carrying out research and consultancy activities in the areas relevant to the needs of the region, activities related to teaching such as regular review of courses and programmes, upgrade of equipment and resources, development of new programmes and mentoring of junior staff and students. Activities associated with tutorials, lecturing, exam paper preparation & marking are to be implemented according to policies and procedures. Appointee will also be required to undertake other administrative duties as directed by the Dean of College.
Relevant PhD degree in Anatomy with demonstrated research outcomes, or product design/development and/or patenting outcomes and/or project leadership/management outcomes and/or publications in recognized journals/outlets, and/or significant number of consultancy outcomes, is essential. Tertiary teaching experience or industrial/professional experiences or professional training experiences are necessary, but outstanding research/publication record and/or national recognition for academic leadership, can be substituted for teaching experience. Demonstrated ability to supervise students at masters and PhD levels is necessary. An Assistant Professor should have 5 -7 years of relevant teaching or Clinical Work Experience An Associate Professor should have at least 8-14 years of relevant teaching or clinical work experience. A Professor should have over 15 years of Teaching or Clinical work experience Professor/ Associate Professor is required to make an outstanding contribution to research and/or scholarship at the University. He/she shall have the ability to also provide an outstanding contribution to collegial life and will have attained recognition at a national or international level in his/her discipline.
