Research Associate in Analytical Chemistry
About the job
You will conduct research in wastewater analysis on substances of abuse and be responsible for developing new tools and refining current methods to measure and assess levels of target compounds. Processing and analysis of data will form part of a national collaboration and reporting to a number of government agencies.
Skills and Experience
To be successful, you will hold a postgraduate degree in an analytical chemistry-related discipline, paired with experience in analytical chemistry techniques and knowledge of laboratory procedures relevant to the research program (specifically, sample extraction techniques and HPLC/tandem mass spectrometry). With well-developed written and verbal communication skills you will have the ability to effectively contribute within a team environment, supervise junior staff and meet project timelines. Knowledge of scientific and pharmaceutical terminology relevant to the research project will be vital.
