This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and highly experienced Human Resources leader to join Auckland University of Technology (AUT) as the next Group Director People & Organisation. As a key member of the Strategic Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership and drive to the HR Group and enhance the quality and range of its human resource services to support the delivery of AUT’s mission and goals.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor Corporate and General Counsel and working closely with the Vice Chancellor and Executive team, you will set the vision and direction for this team of over 50 HR professionals and manage a budget of around $4.5M.  Possessing an ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve outstanding results, your commitment to engaging and empowering your team and the organisation as a whole will assist in fostering a culture that is dedicated to ongoing organisational improvement and growth.

Ideally, you will hold a qualification in human resources or a related discipline and will have a broad understanding of the tertiary environment and strong influencing and coaching skills.  A pro-active and contemporary leader in human resource management, you will be able to demonstrate an innovative approach and experience of integrating HR into the strategic plan for an organisation. You will have led positive change in complex and dynamic environments and will thrive on the challenges and opportunities for cultural and operational improvement.  As an articulate decision maker with exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, you will have a strong commitment to achieving results through a collaborative and consultative leadership style.
