The Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics seeks a full-time laboratory technician to support a research program studying skeletal development in zebrafish. We seek a candidate with experience in molecular biology, and require at a minimum familiarity with standard techniques such as gel electrophoresis, PCR, and plasmid DNA preps. Additional experience with more advanced techniques (preparation of DNA and RNA from tissue samples, in vitro transcription of RNA, in situ hybridizations on tissue samples) is desirable, but not required. The successful applicant will be organized and keep clear records, and be willing to learn new techniques. Some work with zebrafish will be required, and the applicant must be prepared to learn the required techniques and comply with relevant regulations for safely and humanely working with laboratory animals. A bachelors degree and at least one year of experience are required.
1-3 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree required.
