We are seeking to appoint an outstanding scholar to play a leading role in the successful delivery of our aims and ambitions in the area of Criminology. The successful applicant will join a vibrant group of criminological scholars and postgraduates working within the Sociology subject area in the School, who are also part of the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research (SCCJR), a cross-institutional research centre involving four Scottish universities. We welcome applications from candidates of international standing in any area of Criminological scholarship with research interests that complement our existing strengths in punishment, rehabilitation, youth, gender, and organised crime. Applications from those with expertise in the following areas are however particularly encouraged: transnational crime/justice; policing and crime control; security and surveillance; border criminology, and; global and comparative criminology.

With an exceptional academic profile to strengthen Criminology at the University, the successful applicant will undertake world-leading research and knowledge exchange; generate externally funded research grant applications, and; meet the University’s objectives in relation to the delivery of excellent learning, teaching and student experience in the area of Criminology.
