£28,452 - £32,004 (pro rata if part time)

The technician will be based at the Bristol BioEnergy Centre, under the direction of Professor Ioannis Ieropoulos. The work will support the University of New Mexico project to investigate the capabilities of microbial bio-electrochemical systems that can play a central role in water quality and sanitation management.

The post holder shall be required to design and develop microbial fuel cells (MFCs) to test different materials. The post holder shall also be required to construct structures for supporting multiple MFCs as stacks, primarily for an urinal/toilet application and other practical applications.

You will have: 

Good B.Eng (Hons) degree (1st or Upper 2nd) or equivalent (i.e. B.Sc) in Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Computer Science related subject

HND or similar qualification in an Engineering or Computer Science related subject.

1. Electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or robotics in addition to 3D design
2. Good engineering laboratory practice
3. Knowledge of mechanical design and production

1. Rapid prototyping (3D printing) or electrochemistry
2. Industry related
3. Fluid dynamics
