Swinburne University of Technology seeks to appoint an outstanding exercise and sports science academic as Professor/Associate Professor of Exercise and Sports Science and Course Director in the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design based in Melbourne, Australia.

The Professor/Associate Professor of Exercise and Sports Science and Course Director (PECD) will provide outstanding academic, research and professional leadership in the new Exercise and Sports Science course in the Department of Health and Medical Sciences. As part of the university’s ambitious new Health Sciences strategy, the PECD will lead the implementation of a new Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science course and establish the curriculum using a combination of online, blended and on-campus modes of delivery. The PECD will be responsible for establishing industry partnerships and placements, and recruit and supervise new teaching and research staff into the course. The incumbent will also lead a research strand (elite sport and disability, technology/analytics in sport would be of particular interest), convene and teach academic units and supervise research students.

Possessing an outstanding national and international reputation as a leader in teaching and research in Exercise and Sports Science, the successful candidate will demonstrate an outstanding capacity to grow and build a team and curriculum, and develop internationally-renowned research capacity and impact.
