Zeppelin University invites applications for the position of a

Professorship in International Relations

within the Department of Political and Social Sciences. The position is to be filled at the earliest possible opportunity.

In his/her teaching, the future holder of the position will cover the area of International Relations in its whole range, but in particular its theoretical foundation. The position is open with respect to specialization within the field, and may include research expertise in areas such as peace and conflict research, the analysis of supra- and international institutions, or governance beyond the nation state.

Applicants should have a track record of excellent research, demonstrated by publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals or the successful acquisition of research grants. They are expected to have excellent educational abilities and to be willing to provide well-designed and sophisticated courses to the Bachelor and Master programs of the Department, and potentially to Professional Development programs.

A commitment to engage in interdisciplinary research and to participate in the acquisition of competitive research funding is especially welcome. Furthermore it is expected that the applicants are willing to participate in the activities of academic self-governance.

Eligible candidates have a relevant doctoral degree and a distinguished record of post-doctoral research and teaching (equivalent to a “Habilitation” in the German university system).
