Lecturer in Animation and Interactive Media

The School of Media and Communication seeks a Lecturer who will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the Animation and Interactive Media discipline area. The Lecturer will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities relevant to the discipline.
This position requires demonstrated ability to teach in the discipline area of animation in the Bachelor of Design (Animation and Interactive Media) program and significant industry experience in the animation and associated industries. Applicants with expertise in 3D animation; experience in studio pedagogy; and skilled in latest industry production methods and software including, Maya, ZBrush and Nuke, and Visual Effects software such as AE and Houdini, are particularly encouraged to apply.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant should be skilled as a teacher, knowledgeable about 3D animation and demonstrate an ability to work at industry standard and integrate their creative practice with teaching and research. The candidate should possess a demonstrated commitment to research and a collaborative work ethic.
Mandatory: Candidates will have a Doctorate or PhD within a field related to animation and will be required to undertake activities in line with the university's research strategy that emphasises relevant and applied research to advance scholarship and professional engagement.
