Job Description

The CARB-X team ( was established in Summer 2016 to protect humanity from the most serious bacterial threats by accelerating antibacterial product development over the next 25 years. CARB-X seeks a motivated, flexible, and skilled professional to support this new endeavor. Provide a wide range of administrative support to a grant-funded global R&D partnership for antibiotics (CARB-X), including support for consultants and sub-award recipients with administrative and budget processes. Act as a primary administrative point of contact for CARB-X by managing priorities across CARB-X projects, in conjunction with CARB-X partners as well as Boston University administrators. Track and report on expenses for a complex series of sub-awards and contracts for biomedical research in dozens of locations. Assist CARB-X team with content creation for global communications, including website, power points, data visualization, and social media. Make travel arrangements, coordinate, and assist in the planning of outreach events and other CARB-X meetings. This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position, grant funded for up to five years, located in Boston, Massachusetts. This position is contingent upon grant funding.

Required Skills

B.A./B.S., strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and exceptional attention to detail required. Time management skills required for timely responsiveness as well as high reliability of performance. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have one to three years of experience in an administrative setting. Must be able to work independently based on broad direction, and must be able to adapt easily to changing priorities and circumstances. Must work effectively with highly confidential information and demonstrate a high level of discretion at all times.
