The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Program Manager, Learning Design Media is responsible for leading the production of high-quality technology-enhanced learning resources and delivering a broad scope of learning initiatives by applying professional judgment, knowledge, experience and a broad perspective. Reporting to the Director, RMIT Studios, this role is responsible for the operational delivery of digital products and projects whilst applying industry level (educational media production) experience to editorial and production techniques. This role also provides leadership and strategic project co-ordination in collaboration with College and School multimedia resource groups and teams.
Skills & Experience Required
In this role, you will provide leadership and manage the lifecycle ownership of digital resources, which will include the creation, production, maintenance, curation and publication of those resources. Focusing on the University's Strategic Plan the role will support the learning needs of RMIT's students, staff and the wider community. To be successful, you will have substantial experience in the management and application of digital media practice in various learning environments (online, blended and face-to-face) for the purpose of uplifting learning and teaching capacity in staff. You will lead, develop, manage and implement digital solutions that maximize learner engagement, and ensure the integration of these solutions with other online and blended services at RMIT. Key to this role is your ability to drive a range of strategic digital learning design projects at an advisory level, including identifying and advising on commissioning new digital practices or delivering existing editorial, production and curation. In addition, you will support the Director, RMIT Studios with strategic initiatives in the lifecycle ownership of digital learning resources whilst building staff capacity to uplift the practice of digital learning in the student experience.
