The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

Academic Development within RMIT's Learning & Teaching Academy is responsible for the identification and provision of flexible professional development programs that are aligned to the business needs and support the Learning and Teaching goals of the university. Professional Development is a core service in ensuring that an organisation has the right skills and capabilities to achieve its desired goals in a changing landscape. This role is responsible for the provision of thought leadership across core areas that directly or indirectly influence the quality of Learning and Teaching at RMIT with a focus on technology enhanced learning and teaching.

Skills & Experience Required

You will lead and support the development, enhancement and sharing of scholarly innovative learning and teaching practice, to RMIT's strategic directions and driven by an evidence-based quality framework. As Director, you will demonstrate leadership experience in the development of learning design practices for program and course development and quality cycles in collaboration with school-based academic staff, the College DPVC L&T, Deputy Deans L&T and the ADG's within Colleges. Critical to the success of this role will be your ability to drive RMIT's agenda in reimagining program and course development through evidence-based reflection and pedagogic thinking, design and delivery. In addition, you will be required to inspire, engage and challenge the team to deliver high quality, innovative and pedagogically effective learning materials to agreed performance and quality standards, deadlines and budgets, which will deliver an outstanding student experience across all media and platforms.
