Students at IML study part-time and all courses are open to the general public with no entrance requirements. The following services are also offered: translation, interpreting, customised courses for organisations, personalised language learning for individuals & small groups and cross-cultural briefings.
It is a unit within the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty and operates on a fee-for-service basis. More information can be obtained at the IML website at www.iml.uq.edu.au.
The successful applicant will be expected to plan and teach Korean language classes for adult students, manage and assist their learning as well as monitor their progress.
Applicants should ideally possess qualifications in either language teaching, teaching, linguistics or TESOL. Applicants should also have either a degree in the language or native speaker like fluency and have lived in a country in which the language is spoken. Knowledge of current language teaching and assessment practices in Australia is also desirable.
This is a casual appointment at $ 68.43 per hour plus up to 9.5% employer superannuation contribution for approximately 2 hours per week per semester.
