The School of Engineering comes into existence on January 1, 2016 and comprises the previous schools of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering; Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering; and Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching and research efforts in Aerospace Engineering and Aviation discipline especially in computational and/or experimental aerodynamics. The incumbent will be expected to participate in the academic activities of the School and the College and to pursue a program of professional development consistent with the strategic goals of the School. The academic is expected to undertake high quality teaching, research and industry engagement in the designated field both nationally and internationally.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful applicant will bring to the role a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and possess a proven record of academic and/or professional achievement in computational and/or experimental aerodynamics, including computational fluid dynamics and/or wind tunnel testing. Your proven ability to undertake high quality research in the designated field resulting in high quality journal articles in recognized international journals will be critical to your success in this role. Furthermore, your ability to prepare and win competitive research grants and/or research contracts with industry and develop high quality learning and teaching resources in the designated field will be essential to your success in this role.
