Graphic Designer, Global Programs
Participate in the planning, design, development and production of a variety of creative projects including, but not limited to, print and digital mediums for BU Global Programs. Maintain an integrated design approach, inclusive of print and digital formats, while serving as the main print designer responsible for conceptualization and delivery of print collateral and other design projects including, but not limited to, brochures, invitations, posters, premium items, etc. Understand the strategic marketing and communication goals of Global Programs and execute the creative strategy into end-products that visually align with the Boston University vision, brand guidelines and best practices for achieving results. Collaborate with subject matter experts across all Global Program Units (including Study Abroad, Center for English Language and Orientation Programs and the International Student and Scholars Office) to transfer objectives for an initiative into clear, actionable, concise design work for various projects and in multiple design channels and target audiences.
Bachelors degree required, with three years of relevant professional experience in graphic design or related field. Excellent graphic design skills, with a thorough knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts, including color theory and composition, as well as marketing trends and rationale. Ability to develop creative publications and design that will spark interest in the programs and services. Ability to produce high-quality work reflecting attention to detail and accuracy. Technical knowledge of the entire creative and production process, including reproduction, offset printing, various forms of specialty imaging, secure printing techniques, and photography. Exceptional communication skills including verbal communication, writing, editing, and proofreading. Proficient in, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and PowerPoint. Experienced using Mac operating systems. HTML and video editing a plus.
