Position Summary

An Database Manager (Research Associate II Special) position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position is located at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. EESOH-MIS is an enterprise application that tracks the lifecycle of bulk hazardous materials from planning, procurement, issue/use and safe disposal. The application stores all the necessary data to create environmental compliance documents mandated by the EPA and other state and federal regulatory agencies.

Required Job Qualifications

The successful candidate must demonstrate U.S. employment eligibility by the proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. A BS in computer science or related field and a minimum of three years of experience in database administration, data entry, data management and organization. Experience in data quality assurance/quality control. Proven successful collaboration within team and work group environment. Position is contingent on applicant passing government screening to access a U.S. Government network. Must have a valid HI driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience collecting and inputting data for EPA reports such as hazardous waste Biennial Report or Toxic Release Inventory and Tier II reports.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, hazardous waste inventories, and Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Act.
  • Ability to coordinate services by phone and email and provide training/support to database users.
  • Proven oral communication/training skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience writing reports and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience working with personal computers and conventional software programs (word processors, spreadsheets, and databases).
  • Experience working in highly structured organizations, such as governmental agencies, the military or corporations, with established lines of authority, procedures, and protocols.

Maintain local EESOH-MIS database to include accurate data entry of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical information, hazardous waste profile documentation, facility and personnel information. Conduct regular QA/QC to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
