UQ Indigenous Australian Temps Candidate Information

The University of Queensland is committed to providing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to help the University of Queensland create change through world class teaching and research.  We are looking for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to contribute to this success through bringing your knowledge, skills and abilities to work at the University on a temporary basis.

Contract durations are up to 11 months and can be offered full-time or part-time; fixed-term or casual.  Currently UQ Indigenous Australian Temps supports the placement of temporary staff in areas such as finance, general administration, reception, personal assistant, project work and IT.

UQ Indigenous Australian Temps assists all organisational units of the University in maintaining full productivity in times of need through the placement of short-term temporary staff.  The main UQ campuses are at St Lucia, Herston and Gatton. For further information see http://www.uq.edu.au/about/campuses-and-locations.

Temporary staff members are employed under the University of Queensland Enterprise Agreement (2014 - 2017).  The University expects all staff to perform their duties in a manner consistent with the University's Code of Conduct, set out in the Policies and Procedures Library, see Code of Conduct policy.

All Temporary staff members:

  • are interviewed and reference checked either internally or externally as required.
  • may be interviewed by the organisational unit before a placement decision is made.

An assessment of the temporary staff member's work performance is completed at the end of the placement.
