The Department of Management and Marketing is one of three departments in the La Trobe Business School. Combining high quality research, teaching and business and community engagement, the Department has strengths in areas including but not limited to, human resource management, management information systems, sport management, organisations, international business, leadership, ethics, diversity, innovation and entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality, event management marketing's role in business sustainability, social innovation and shared value; innovations in marketing communications, networks, consumer behaviour and branding.
A Level B teaching and research academic is expected to develop curriculum, teach and undertake research or other scholarly work relevant to the development of their discipline or professional field.
About the role
You will be required to prepare and deliver lectures and seminars (both in the online and face to face/blended learning space), conduct tutorials, contribute to the development of the research culture of the School, and facilitate links between the School and industry. You will be required to teach in one of more of the following areas International business, International human resource management and/or Strategic management.
In this role you will be expected to develop curriculum, teach and undertake research or other scholarly work relevant to the development of your discipline or professional field. You will also be required to contribute to management and administrative tasks as appropriate. This position will focus on international business, international human resource management and strategic management.
You will be required to:
- Prepare and deliver lecturers and seminars and conduct tutorials that motivate and engage students.
- Facilitate links between the School and the industry and participate in administrative and service activities as required.
- Teach in an area that is relevant to the School.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and implement innovative online teaching techniques.
- Keep abreast of teaching and learning innovations and participate in innovative course level curriculum design.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role you will possess a PhD or the equivalent in Management or a cognate area. You will have competence in teaching and curriculum development in international business, international human resource management and/or strategic management. The ability to engage with innovation in cross-campus teaching is essential. Your research will be of high quality and published or otherwise disseminated, relative to your opportunity. High level organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential to your success in this role. You must have the ability to work as a member of a team in a collaborative and collegial manner and be able to contribute to administration duties as required.
