The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is one of seven Schools within the Faculty of Arts and Education and is seeking to fill the senior leadership position of Head of School.

This appointment offers an outstanding opportunity to work collaboratively to lead and further develop the School’s teaching and research programs. To be successful in this role, you will have a broad knowledge of the humanities and/or social sciences sectors, a history of academic achievement and demonstrated leadership qualities.

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is a multi-campus academic unit and offers a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses both onshore and online in a range of disciplines including: English, History, Human Services, Politics, Philosophy and Sociology. There are approximately 65 school staff who are engaged in teaching and research with colleagues across the Faculty and university in a range of arts and humanities areas. There are also a significant number of sessional staff who teach a range of subjects. Staff also teach in courses based in other schools of the Faculty of Arts and Education and other faculties of the University in areas including applied ethics, media history, theory and policy.
