Job Description

The Questrom School of Business at Boston University anticipates an opening for a tenured full professor with an established reputation as a behavioral researcher in the areas of medical decision making, consumer health and behavior change, or both areas. The position would begin in Fall 2017, subject to approval of the Provost’s office.

The Questrom School has built a strong, interdisciplinary group of faculty with expertise in all aspects of health and life sciences research, which is an area of strategic focus for the school. We seek outstanding candidates who would be stimulated by and engaged with this vibrant community.  Candidates will be expected to interface with, contribute to, and potentially serve a leadership function in the interdisciplinary Boston University Institute for Health Systems Innovation, which is housed in the Questrom School of Business and unites Questrom, BU’s Medical School, and the BU School of Public Health.  Prospective candidates must have demonstrated a consistent record of publishing high quality research in top academic journals and be recognized as a thought leader in the areas of health decision making and/or behavior change. This could include experts in areas where decision making or behavioral change intersects with public policy, business, or individual level decision making affecting physical health, mental health, or subjective-wellbeing.

Required Skills

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in marketing, psychology, behavioral economics, organizational behavior, or a related field, a proven record or high potential for scholarly research, and demonstrated teaching abilities at the undergraduate and graduate level.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.

DO NOT APPLY THROUGH THE BOSTON UNIVERSITY HR WEBSITE.

Interested candidates are encouraged to send a resume, letters of reference, and no more than three research papers electronically to bickart@bu.edu. Applications will be accepted until November 14th, 2016.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We are a VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
