Tenure-Track Professorship in Human Evolutionary Biology
The Department of Human Evolutionary Biology seeks to appoint a tenure-track or tenured professor in the fields of physiology or behavioral ecology, including, but not limited to, areas such as energetics, life-history, aging, immune function, and reproductive ecology.
We are interested in candidates who address these fields from an evolutionary perspective in humans or non-human primates, and welcome candidates whose research includes fieldwork as well as laboratory-based studies (including on model organisms).
The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2017.
The appointee will teach and advise at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Department of Human Evolutionary Biology values diversity among its faculty, and we are committed to building a culturally diverse intellectual community. We particularly encourage applications from historically underrepresented groups, including women and minorities.
Candidates are required to have a doctorate or terminal degree by the time the appointment begins.
Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and research is desired.
We will evaluate applications beginning November 30, 2016, and will conclude when the position is filled.
For a tenure-track professorship, please submit the following materials through the ARIeS portal (http://academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/7254):
1. Cover letter
2. Curriculum vitae
3. Teaching statement (describing teaching approach and philosophy)
4. Research statement
5. Representative publications
6. Names and contact information of 3-5 referees, who will be asked by a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation once the candidate’s application has been submitted. Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received.
