Assistant Professor: Neuro-Media Studies

NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information is looking for a scholar-teacher who has research interests that complement the school’s existing areas of excellence in media studies with additional expertise in cognitive/media neuroscience, psychophysiology, or evolutionary psychology. To be considered for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level, applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or MD degree by the time they join NTU. Competitive candidates are expected to investigate media processes by means of neurophysiological methodologies such as EEG, fMRI, and measures of peripheral physiology. The position will be associated with the Cognitive, Physiological, Behavioural and Social Sciences (COGPASS) Research Centre at the Wee Kim Wee School. The centre is equipped with state-of-the art laboratory equipment such as functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS), non-invasive brain stimulation and electroencephalography (EEG) measurement systems. Successful candidates will be also involved in interdisciplinary collaborations with the new Brain Imaging Centre at NTU’s Medical School which is equipped with latest generation fMRI, MEG, TMS, EEG, EKG, and EMG setups. NTU’s new Brain Imaging Centre is located at a 3-minute walking distance from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.
