This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to continue to develop their world leading research in a buoyant and expanding School of Life Sciences. We are looking to appoint an internationally recognised research-active Professor in Vector Biology to contribute to the research profile of the School and assist in teaching.

This post is a key appointment which will be of central importance in enhancing the School’s research profile and extending the School’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally.  Specifically you will engage in and publish world leading research and generate significant research income; successfully supervise PhD and MSc students; offer leadership in research; undertake teaching responsibilities relevant to programmes of the School; and contribute more widely to the School through service, administration and leadership.

You will have a PhD and will be expected to have an internationally recognised research profile within any aspect related to vector biology and its application to disease control. You will continue to develop your international research profile by establishing a world leading research group within the School. Whilst not excluding any particular research theme, you would be expected to complement existing research activities in the Centre of Applied Entomology and Parasitology.

Applications are therefore welcomed from individuals committed to high-quality research and teaching with an excellent track record of achievement. It is our expectation that you will qualify for inclusion in future Research Excellence Framework submissions in the UK. You will be able to incorporate your knowledge and experience of the discipline into exciting learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
