We now have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader, Client Services within the Division of Academic and Student Life at James Cook University (JCU).  JCU is committed to creating a brighter future for life in the tropics world-wide through graduates and discoveries that make a difference. A continuing appointment this position is based at the Townsville campus, located in picturesque tropical North Queensland. 

Our Division

The Division of Academic and Student Life is responsible for the overall strategy in relation to learning and teaching, academic quality, student services, careers and counselling, equity and library and information services at JCU.  The Division plays a critical role in working with and across the Colleges and Divisions at JCU and oversees a large component of the student experience at JCU.

The Library and Information Services Directorate provides innovative, high quality, client-focused library services including research skills, digital and information literacies and use of technologies; information resources, scholarly and cultural collections; and learning facilities that contribute to and enhance the University’s learning, teaching, and research priorities.

The Directorate has a library and information commons at the Townsville and Cairns campuses and delivers a wide range of online resources and services to all campus and study locations and to clients both on and off-campus.

Your Role

The Team Leader, Client Services will provide pivotal leadership to a team of librarians, library officers and student casuals to deliver high quality library and information services to the staff and students of JCU.

Key to your success will be your client focussed, hands on approach as you liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including academic and professional staff, to deliver and manage the everyday services of the Library including facilities maintenance, efficient front of house services and recruiting, training and supervising of casuals.

A qualified professional in your field, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library management system circulation module, financial transactions and debt collection and the operation of the digital object repository including the integrity of the metadata, administrative and reporting functions.
