International Case Worker
Full Time (37 hours per week)
£18,412 to £20,046 per annum with further progression opportunities to £21,220
The Department of International Partnership and Development provides strategic and operational leadership of the University’s internationalisation agenda. Working closely with the Faculties and other Professional Services, the Department leads and supports:
- The development, implementation and monitoring of the internationalisation strategy.
- International and European student recruitment.
- International and European partnership to support teaching, community engagement, research and knowledge exchange.
- Curriculum developments as they relate to the international market.
- Staff capacity development to engage in international working.
- The ambition to increase student mobility opportunities.
The Department is comprised of 27 members of staff and is based in the flagship building of Augustine House in the centre of Canterbury.
The post-holder will be an integral part of the International Partnership and Development Admissions and Engagement team.
The International Case worker will communicate with and advise students from the European Union and overseas regarding specific international issues such as Tier 4 visa compliance matters, engagement with their course and the wider institution, and culturally sensitive issues.
The role will assist the International Admissions team with their work in contacting and engaging international students’ pre-arrival via e-mail, Skype and telephone. To assist the development and implementation of online pre-arrival engagement material.
You will be first degree level qualified (or equivalent standard) with experience in a Further or Higher Education environment. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of diverse and multinational environments and excellent effective communication skills.
Desirable requirements: Knowledge of UKVI and HE systems would be advantageous.
