Position overview

Working in partnership with the ACT Government, the ANU Energy Change Institute (ECI) has secured a unique opportunity for the University to become a world leader in Battery Storage and Integration. 

The Research Leader, Battery Storage and Integration, will have a unique opportunity to build a research group, integrate it with the ECI's broad portfolio of research strengths, and work collaboratively with ANU researchers in related energy fields.

The Research Leader, Battery Storage and Integration, will bridge the areas of battery technology and network integration at a level where they will be able to engage strongly with local industry, end-users, other researchers, the media and the wider public.  The position will also contribute to the public policy program of the University and engage with government. 

We are seeking an outstanding researcher to develop a world leading research and research led education program in Battery Storage and Integration; inform public policy development; and promote outreach and engagement with government, industry and the community.  The Research Leader will have a high level of distinguished achievement at an international level in a field related to Battery Storage and Integration.  They will be experienced at managing and leading large research projects, and have experience in mentoring research staff and students.  They are expected to have had considerable involvement in professional activities and possess an ability to engage with the wider community including the media.  Contributions to public policy would be advantageous.

Residing within one of the University's world-leading Research Schools, the Research Leader is a full Professor (Level E) or Associate Professor (Level D) position.  The level offered will be based upon the recipient's experience and future potential.  An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, including a significant start up allocation that includes funding for research staff, students, operating support and infrastructure.
