Team Leader – Architecture and Development
The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) is owned by the three South Australian universities (University of Adelaide, Flinders University and University of South Australia), Charles Darwin University, and TAFE SA. SATAC manages centralised application and admissions processes on behalf of the owners and on a fee for service basis for other institutions.
The Architecture and Development Team’s core responsibilities include providing information systems infrastructure, applications and services supporting the current and future information processing needs of all sections of SATAC and its institutional customers. Architecture and Development is a service-oriented department that has an intimate understanding of the business and delivering the services in line with the needs of the business. The Architecture and Development Team is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of SATAC’s bespoke admissions software - South Australian and Northern Territory Admissions System (SANTAS). This includes supporting the related IT processes, governance and specialist management of the underlying system infrastructure technologies that support SATAC’s software applications.
The Team Leader Architecture and Development operates under broad direction and is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the work of the developers in this team is coordinated and supports the overall architecture of the system at a functional and technical level. The Team Leader works closely with the Manager Business Innovation and Technology Services (BITS) to ensure that solutions are consistent with, and maximise the benefit of, SATAC’s existing system platforms. As SATAC is a strongly IT centric and enabled organisation the role of the Team Leader Architecture and Development, is critical in ensuring that quality assured, trusted and robust systems and processes underpin SATAC’s admissions services.
Salary: (HEO 8) $90,770 - $102,116 per annum.
Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.
Term of position: Continuing full-time.
To be successful you should have:
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead by example with a team of skilled specialists
- Skills and experience mentoring and coaching skilled staff
- Experience contributing to projects and delivering on stated expectations and milestones
- Prior experience with technical ownership of a broad solution design and wide ranging functionality
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Agile/scrum project delivery
- Java programming
- Service Orientated Architecture
- Excellent understanding of project processes and contemporary approaches to developing complex systems in response to rapidly changing business needs.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer or Information Science, Mathematical Sciences, Systems Analysis or related discipline and/or significant relevant experience.
