Bring your skills and experience to our Music Department and you will enjoy scope to make a significant impact. A composer specialising in areas of acoustic composition, you will influence the development and delivery of our composition curriculum. We will look to you to teach composition and related technical subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will build on our strong tradition of supporting composition, as evidenced by our state-of-the-art electro-acoustic facilities, resident contemporary music ensemble and annual contemporary music festival.

What is more, you will be instrumental in enhancing our burgeoning research culture - from securing funding, to creating an impact within the discipline. We are internationally renowned for our research in composition, performance, musicology, analysis, music psychology and ethnomusicology. As well as being an active member of our dedicated team of composers, we will expect you to forge links with researchers in other fields, both within Durham and elsewhere. You will be encouraged to develop innovative connections and interdisciplinary dialogue.
