The Aboriginal Education Centre (AEC) is Federation University's Centre responsible for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student recruitment, access and support, and engages with all stakeholders to promote the University as a key site for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tertiary training as well as being the visible Centre for University engagement with local (Ballarat and Grampians), Regional and National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations, including Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Groups (LAECGs) and Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc. (VAEAI).
The Manager, Aboriginal Education Centre will ensure that the University and the AEC achieve their strategic goals in promoting access, recruitment and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. You will take a leading role in the development and implementation of the University's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education strategy; policy development and implementation; overall supervision of programs and staff; and management of relations with internal University and external stakeholders as well as be responsible for statutory reporting to Government through liaison with the Executive Director, Federation College and Finance directorate.
As the successful applicant, you will have demonstrated knowledge of the needs and aspirations of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly as they relate to education, as well as experience in developing strategies responding to these needs and aspirations. With a demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies, operational plans, policies and procedures, your knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cultures with the ability to communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will be a key requirement of this position.
Travel between campuses and throughout Victoria will be required.
Salary $105,859 to $110,141 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
Appointments will normally be at the base of the salary range.
