The Faculty of Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. As the first university in Australia to grant degrees in science (1882), science has long been at the cornerstone of the institution and this continues today. As a research and education leader in fields such as biomedical sciences, agricultural, environmental and earth sciences, and photonics, the faculty offers an exciting and innovative work environment.

The Faculty Office acts to support the learning and teaching, research and business operations of its four schools, Centres and Institutes on the North Terrace, Waite and Roseworthy Campuses.

Working under general direction the Student Experience Team Coordinator is responsible for providing advice to Faculty management on core student services activities in the Faculty of Sciences.

The role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of coursework student administrative services and student experience activities. The position coordinates the provision of high quality advice to students and staff, the selection and enrolment processes for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, the delivery of student experience support activities and is a major point of contact for information flow between the Schools and Faculty of student administrative issues.

Salary: HEO6 ($73,122 to $79,173 per annum)

Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% applies / 17% may apply

Term of position: This fixed-term contract is available immediately until October 2017

Position requirements

Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Ability to lead and manage a team
  2. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of student services in a tertiary institution
  3. Demonstrated capacity to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies and procedures
  4. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to liaise and interact effectively with staff at all levels
  5. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to use initiative and judgement to establish priorities and to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  6. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office suite of products


An appropriate tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
