Research Assistant in Digital Studio

Salary: $66,809* - $90,657 p.a. (pro-rata) (*PhD Entry Level $84,458 p.a. pro-rata) plus 9.5% superannuation
The Research Assistant will provide program coordination of the Digital Studio in the Faculty of Arts, working closely with the Assistant Dean Digital Studio, Professor Rachel Fensham to realise its research potential in the digital humanities and social sciences.
The Digital Studio is an exciting new initiative in the new Arts West building on the main campus of the University of Melbourne. The design and operation of the studio is geared towards innovation, and the showcasing of digital humanities and social science computing projects in development. It will provide support and advice to staff, students and industry through the mechanism of co-locating existing and current research projects and teams which involve Arts staff and students, and professional experts from across the University, with experts available to provide consultation and training in line with existing service provision in other locations. It will enable collaborative research, bringing together researchers, industry partners and digital experts at different stages in the project life-cycle.
The Research Assistant will play a central coordination role, assisting the Director and advisory and user groups, planning symposiums and training workshops, facilitating meetings with the resesarchers, insititutional stakeholders and partners (such as SCIP and the Transformative Techologies Research Unit), and assisting in the drafting of grant proposals for the Digital Studio. The Research Assistant would be expected to coordinate the program of events and arrangements for research fellows and collaborative projects and should deliver the visualisation of research, online content management and social media communications of the Digital Studio.
