The Faculty of Business and Economics is seeking a Business Manager for the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research, a fixed-term maternity replacement position until January 2018.
About the position:
We are seeking a Business Manager who will be accountable for the leadership, management and delivery of academic support services to the Institute.
You will have oversight and significant responsibility for coordinating and liaising with Faculty and University Shared Services in order to deliver effective levels of service to the Institute.
You will also provide operational leadership and strategic advice to the Director and have responsibility for the management of significant and complex resources; provision of leadership, supervision, capability development and appraisal of professional staff; and provision of advice and interpretation of Faculty and University policies and requirements.
To be successful in this role you will hold a postgraduate qualification with extensive relevant management experience or extensive management experience and proven management expertise. The ideal candidate will be outcome focused and possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills; along with the ability to prepare and monitor budget, develop and implement strategic and operational plans. You will also have proven skills in leading and motivating a team as well as managing performance.
